William C. “Skip” Lawlor, 87, passed away Monday afternoon, August 23, 2021 at Saratoga Hospital.
Born on October 31, 1933 in Albany, he was one of eleven children born to William and Mary (Rogers) Lawlor. Following his high school graduation, Skip served in the United States Navy.
He married Nancy Fraser on New Year’s Eve of 1965 in Clearwater, Florida.
Skip was a member of the Professional Golfers Association. He was pro at the McGregor Country Club here in Wilton for several years, as well as spending winters on the golf staff at The Bellvue Biltmore in Clearwater and The Breakers in Palm Beach Florida. In later years he worked for Keystone Foods and traveled throughout the world with their international division. He retired as vice president of operations in 1993 at which time he and Nancy made Florida their home, naturally on a golf course at Plantation Bay in Ormond Beach.
His enjoyments included traveling, playing golf, horse racing, and spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Marjorie Smith.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy Lawlor; his daughter, Deborah Worth and her husband Michael, whom he loved as a son; one beloved granddaughter, Amanda Worth; his siblings: Claire Kropp, Maryann Gibbs, Patricia Ashley, Jeanne Tompkins, Corinne Everleth, Suzzanne Rutkowski, Carol Franze, Charles Lawlor, and James Lawlor; many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Skip’s wishes and covid concerns, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.
