It is with deep sorrow and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Virginia F. Cowles of East River Drive. She passed away Friday morning, February 27, 2026 at Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center at the age of 87.
Born on July 15,1938 in Corinth. She was a lifelong area resident and daughter of the late Charles (John) and Jennie (Short) Bunzey.
Virginia was a 1957 graduate of Corinth Central School. She worked at International Paper Mill, Red Deer Trader and General Foods in Saratoga Springs until her retirement.
Virginia married Miles Cowles on July 18, 1959. She spent her winters in Melbourne Beach, Florida. She enjoyed her family and friends, crafts and her flower gardens. She cherished the time she spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Miles Cowles. She is survived by her children Cindy Jouver (Chuck) of Salem, CT, Michael Cowles (Lisa) of Lake Luzerne, David Cowles (Melody) of Queensbury and Dawn Cowan (Chris) of Glens Falls one sister Charlene Eubank (Jerry) of Myrtle Beach, SC, her grandchildren Nicole LaFountain, Heather Thoman, Michael Thoman, Sarah Thoman, Matthew Thoman and Mark Thoman; Amanda (Kate) Forney, and Chris Cowan; Taylor (Kris) Cowles, Caleb Perry; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours and no services being held. Burial will occur later in the spring. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
