Hadley
Thomas J. Boles entered heavenly rest Thursday afternoon, August 7, 2025.
Born on May 18, 1931 in Oceanside, NY, he was the son of Thomas and Margaret (Donahue) Boles. He was a 1949 graduate of Bishop Louglin High School. He served two years active duty in the United States Army during the Korean War and 23 years as an Army Reservist.
He retired from Irving Trust Company on Wall St. in New York City in 1967. He married Patricia A. Rogers in 1962. They lived in Cedar hurst for 4 years. They moved to Corinth in 1967 and began working at Continental Insurance Company in Glens Falls as a safety field engineering the loss control department for 20 years.
Tom was a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, Horace Washburn American Legion post 533, Corinth, past president and active member of the Stony Creek Rod n Gun Club. He instructed hunter safety education courses for several years. He was a member of the National Association of Uniform Services, life member of the National Rifle Association.
Following retirement, they traveled around the world to over 30 countries, including Ireland where he found his cousins. In 1986, he, his wife and daughter moved to their retirement cabin in Hadley. On November 7, 2105 his bucket list was completed when he went on the Leatherstocking Honor Flight to Washington with friend Loren Brown and their two special guardians, John and patty Dann.
Tom is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia Boles, one daughter, Hannah Thomas; grandson, Holland Thomas; two nieces, one nephew of Long Island, special cousins: Lena Donnellan of Ireland and Elizabeth Coggins of Valley Cottage.
There are no calling hours scheduled.
Burial with military honors will be private at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
