Susan A. Whitman, 77, formerly of Rome, NY passed away Tuesday morning, October 5, 2021 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on June 18, 1944 in Rome, she was the daughter of the late William and Eleanor (King) Dolan.  She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy

Susan was united in marriage to Joseph W. Whitman, Jr. on July 3, 1975, a loving marriage for over 46 years.

Sue and Joe moved to Blue Mountain Lake upon Joe’s retirement in 2003 from the 174th Fighter Wing in Syracuse, NY.  Together, they enjoyed riding motorcycle, snowmobiling, walking their dogs, swimming and boating.

Susan spent every summer in Blue Mountain Lake where her parents had a small camp.  She loved Blue Mountain Lake and the people who lived there, the square dances on Friday night at the firehouse were fun for all.

She was predeceased by her parents William (1997) and Eleanor (2001) and a brother, Patrick (2011).

Surviving, are her beloved husband, Joe; sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Sue’s wishes, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.

Burial will be in Blue Mountain Lake Cemetery.
