Indian Lake
Stanley E. “Ed” Brown, Jr., 73, of Bennett Road, passed away Wednesday evening, October 23, 2024, at Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by family and friends, following a battle with ALS.
Born on January 5, 1951, in Lowville, he was the son of the late Stanley Brown, Sr. and Helen (Meyer) McNamara. He was a graduate of Edgewood High School in West Covina, CA. He moved to Indian Lake in 1975.
Ed worked for NYSDOT and NYSDEC in Indian Lake and had subcontracted as a mail carrier for the United States Post Office. For the past 7 years he has served as Town Justice for the town of Indian Lake.
Ed enjoyed riding his ATV, boating, hiking, genealogy, and spending time in the outdoors. He was a member of the NYS Magistrates Association.
He was predeceased by his parents; siblings: Sheila Doherty, Albert Brown, and John Brown.
Survivors include his mother, Helen McNamara of Clifton Park; siblings: Nancy Brown of Blue Mountain Lake, Lesley Ann Lawrence of Slingerlands, and a half-brother, Benny Lomondo of California; a special niece, Leah Carter of Arizona; his beloved dog, Chico.
Friends may call Wednesday, October 30, 2024, from 1-3and 5-7 p.m.at Miller Funeral Home, 6357 State Route 30, Indian Lake.
Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 7 p.m.
