Lake Luzerne
Sharon A. Ellis, 79, of Lake Ave., was welcomed into the arms of her Lord on Friday evening, March 21, 2025. She passed at home surrounded by her family.
Born on June 10, 1945 in Corinth, she was the daughter of the late Albert Z. And Mary M. (Shea) Barrows. She was a 1964 graduate of Corinth High School.
She married Gerald F. Ellis on February 29, 1964 at the Free Methodist Church in Corinth.
Sharon worked as a bus driver for the Hadley Luzerne Central School for 24 years. She was an organist at her church since the age of 16. She was past associate pastor at the Christian Worship Center in Warrensburg. She had been a real estate agent for Lake Luzerne Real Estate and Toran Lake Real Estate.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing piano, organ, riding her bicycle, reading and watching Jimmy Swaggart. She loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed family trips to Wells, Maine and mini vacations to Vermont with her husband.
She was predeceased by her parents and siblings: Aaron Barrows, Merwin Barrows, and Wilda Esford.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 61 years, Gerald Ellis; one daughter, Stacy (Steven) Foote of Hadley; one son, Scott (Teresa) Ellis of Lake Luzerne; two sisters: Martha Brownell, of Hadley, Ruth (Bernard) Senecal of Ithaca; grandchildren: Jared, Jordan (Helen), Makenzie, Kaley, Joshua, Carolyn, Megan, Justin (Cassie), Anthony (Brooke), and Nicholas (Meghan); great grandchildren: Michael, Landon, Leanna, Caleb, Starla, Rayna, Breyer, Carter, Dawson, Liam, Sofie, Landon, Kinsleigh, and Kendall; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon at Brewer Funeral Home, 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.
Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation on Thursday at 12 Noon.
Private burial will be in Luzerne Cemetery, Lake Luzerne.
