Indian Lake

Robert W. Harris, 86, of Adirondack Lake Road, passed away Thursday evening, January 2, 2025, at Glens Falls Hospital following a brief illness.

Born on April 14, 1938, in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Clarence and Dorothy (Hinckle) Harris.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960 Earning the good conduct medal.  While in the service he was trained as an air traffic controller.

He married Kay Speer on October 29, 1960, in New Jersey.  Kay passed away on May 20, 2024.  Together, they enjoyed 63 wonderful years.

Bob worked at various airports retiring from New York Center in Islip, NY.  They made Indian Lake their home on November 30, 1994.

Bob and Kay visited all 50 states, most of Europe and Canada.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, feeding and watching the wildlife, reading, watching old western movies, playing board games with his grandchildren and most recently, attending Bible study at the First Baptist Church of Indian Lake.

He served for over 25 years as an ambulance driver for Indian Lake Volunteer Ambulance Corps and was an active member of the Parker Benton American Legion Post 1392, Indian Lake.

Bob was predeceased by his parents; he beloved wife, Kay Harris; two sisters: Bonnie and Beth.

Survivors include his children: Robert Harris of Bohemia; Lynn Piccoli of Lakeland, FL, Sharon (Thomas) Tener of Amityville; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a half-sister, Sandy Miller of Maryland; several nieces and nephews. 

Friends may call Saturday, January 11, 2025. from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, 6357 State Route 30, Indian Lake.

Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 2 p.m.

Private burial will be in Benton Cemetery, where he will once again be by Kay’s side.
