Robert C. “Dort” Doherty, 69, of Durant Road, passed away suddenly, Friday evening, December 18, 2020 at his home.

Born on November 6, 1951 in Glens Falls, he was the son of William and June (DuFour) Doherty.  He was a graduate of South Glens Falls High School.

On June 27, 1987 he married Sheila Potter in Glens Falls.  They moved to Blue Mountain Lake in 1993.

Bob had worked at Northern Homes for many years and then worked for Wallace Contracting for several years.  Most recently, Bob has been working for Kullman Contracting in Indian Lake.

Bob enjoyed boating, fishing, snowmobiling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan, especially the NY Giants.  His witty sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was predeceased by a sister, Carol Cox and his mother-in-law, Florence “Flossie” Brown.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Doherty; his children: Robert C. Doherty, Jr. of Glens Falls, Sean (Ritz) Doherty of Rensselaer, Meagan Doherty of Plattsburgh, Nathaniel Harrington of Glens Falls; his grandchildren: Logan Doherty, Brenden Doherty and Liam Doherty; his sisters-in-law, Nancy Brown and Peggy Irish as well as his extended family.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.
