Lake Luzerne

Rita E. Persutti, 87, of Church St., passed away peacefully Saturday morning, December 29, 2018 at her home.

Born on October 27, 1931 in Corinth, she was the daughter of the late James K. and Pauline (Champagne) Hovey. She was a graduate of Hadley Luzerne Central School.

Rita enjoyed spending time with her family.  As a homemaker, she devoted her time and energy into raising her children and loving her grandchildren.  She had a special bond with her grandson Justin.

She was predeceased by her husbands: John J. McFarlane who died on Aug. 15, 1967 and Pasquale Persutti, who died on May 2, 1982; two brothers: James E. Hovey and Paul Hovey.

Survivors include her seven children: Paula (Michael) Tubbs of Lake Luzerne, Connie (William) Gebo of Lake Luzerne, Patricia (Bobby) Colon of Hudson Falls, Bruce (Jane) McFarlane of Gansevoort, Rick (Karen) McFarlane of Lake Luzerne, Ronald (Brenda) McFarlane of Corinth, Michael Persutti of Lake Luzerne; 16 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Margaret Hovey of Hadley; one niece, Janine (David) DePew; one nephew, Edward J. Hovey; several cousins.

Friends may call Sunday (today) from 6-8 p.m. at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Lake Luzerne.

Private burial will follow in Luzerne Cemetery, Lake Luzerne.
