Indian Lake
Randolph “Randy” DeLong, 83, of Big Brook Rd., passed away Thursday evening, April 9, 2026, at his home with family at his side.
Born on June 17, 1942, in Woodstock, Vt, he was the son of the late Gordon and Helen DeLong. He served in the United States Army.
He worked along with his father and brothers, Lionel and Allan DeLong, Sr. for International Paper building logging roads for many years. In 1988 he started working for the Town of Indian Lake which transferred into the County in 1998. He retired at the age of 79 after many dedicated years at the Indian Lake Transfer Station.
He enjoyed fishing, collecting, puttering in his yard, scratching lottery tickets and spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his parents and siblings: Valgene DeLong, Caroline Simmons, April Crosse, Lionel DeLong, Walter “Todd” DeLong, Gary DeLong, Allan DeLong, Sr., Scott DeLong.
He is survived by a daughter, Brandy DeLong; two nephews who were more like sons: Allan DeLong, Jr. and Jeremiah DeLong; two grandchildren: Andrew Prosser and Kira DeLong; two brothers: Barry DeLong and Kurt DeLong.
In keeping with his wishes, there are no services scheduled for Randy.
