Jessie would like to share "Nicholas' Story."
Missie and I have had Nick since he was 8 months old. The adoption process took six more years to complete in the court system. Missie and I were unable to have a baby. She had a miscarriage before we got Nick. The baby's due date was 9/9/95. That was also when Nicholas was born. We prayed to God to specifically. We wanted a son, and we would name him Nicholas. When we got him, he had already been named Nicholas.
He was born with barbiturates in his system and spent two or three years in and out of the hospital. His immune system weakened. Nick blamed his drug and alcohol abuse on this, and in his weakness, he took his own life.
I share this with you in the hopes that one person might see this and change his/her course because of hearing Nick's story.
Are you lonely? Addicted to drugs? or alcohol? Feeling there is no way out of your pain? Please reach out to someone! There is a way out! There is one who wants to rescue you. His name is Jesus. He is stronger than drug or alcohol addiction. Stronger than cancer. Stronger than anything that binds you or enslaves you. He is stronger than suicide!
Once again, I beg you: If you are suffering and feel hopeless, please, please, reach out to someone. Don't give up.
