Neil H. Allen, 75, of North Shore Road, passed away Monday evening, July 13, 2026, at his home with his family at his side,
Born on August 9, 1950, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Ethan and Ona (Thomas) Allen. He was a graduate of Hadley Luzerne Central School.
He married Frances “Elaine” Diehl on July 13, 1968, in Day. Elaine passed away on October 30, 2022, following 57 years of marriage.
Neil owned and operated Neil Allen Auto Body on Ralph Road in Lake Luzerne for many years. In his “retirement” he worked as a custodian for Hadley Luzerne Central School for 13 years.
He was an avid car enthusiast. He enjoyed going to car shows and restoring vintage cars to their former glory. He had also enjoyed hunting and was a past member of the Hadley Hunting Club.
He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, siblings: Jeanie Allen, Merl Allen, Douglas Allen, and Thomas Allen.
Survivors include his children: Gloria (David) Carson of Hadley, Linda Cutler of Eutaville, SC, Thomas Allen of Sacramento, CA; his grandchildren: Aaron (Cassondra) Allen, Shawna (Jack) Gray, Tracy Miller, Jr., Thomas Allen II, and Courtney Allen; great grandchildren: Aaron, Jr. and Greyson; a sister, Sue Fairchild of Denver, NC; his companion, Sue Mosher; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call Thursday, July 23, 2026, from, 4-6 p.m. at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.
Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2026, at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Day Meadows Cemetery, Day.
