Indian Lake
Milorad Mirkovic, 56, of Crow Hill Road, passed away Sunday evening, September 22, 2019 at his home in Queens.
Born on August 19, 1963 in Serbia, he was the son of the late Jovan and Irene (Kramer) Mirkovic. He graduated high school in Belgrade. He came to the United States in his early 20’s and earned his Master’s degree in education from Hunter College in New York City. He also earned a Black Belt in Hapkido and was a Soccer Referee for over a decade. He worked for over 20 years at P.S. 76 in Astoria, Queens as an Elementary School Teacher.
On June 27, 2018 he married his longtime partner, Christina Cobo-Mirkovic. They had been spending as much time possible at their Indian Lake home for many years, enjoying all the Adirondack’s had to offer. Milorad and Christina reached 27 out of the 46 High Peaks. He enjoyed mountain climbing, biking, playing chess, blackjack, monopoly and creating origami intricate designs.
Living his legacy include his mom: Irene; wife: Christina; children: Jovan, Luis, Nikola, Jessi; his siblings: Marina, Jelena and Djurdja.
Friends may call Saturday Oct. 5, 2019 from 1-3 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home, 6357 NYS Rte. 30, Indian Lake. A Funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019.
