Maurice “Tim” Callahan III passed away Saturday, December 28, at Glens Falls Hospital from complications of Parkinson’s Disease which he had battled for over 10 years.
Born May 19, 1946, he was the son of the late Maurice Callahan Jr. and Dorothy (Rivett) Callahan.
Tim grew up in Blue Mountain Lake cementing a bond with a place that he cherished. After serving in the United States Army, Tim worked for US Airways. He married his best friend, Donna Rugur January 11,1985, and together their adventure began including traveling the world, downhill and cross country skiing, boating, and building a home in Blue in 1999.
Tim retired as a shift supervisor from US Airways in 2003, Blue Mountain Lake becoming his permanent residence. He drove bus for Indian Lake Central School for over 10 years; his favorite job, ferrying his favorite people.
Enjoyments focused on the outdoors, his home and family, Steelers football and Red Sox baseball.
Tim is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Callahan; two sisters: Patricia Callahan and Sally (William) Stanton: several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Tim’s wishes, there are no calling hours or services scheduled. His family expresses sincerest gratitude to the Blue Mountain Lake Fire Department and Ambulance for their care.
