Mar took our family in after our home burn and we had nowhere to go and no money to our name. We had three dogs at the time. Two of which were quite large. Even though she had a cat she didn’t hesitate. She opened her heart, arms and doors to us. Not many would do that, especially for three dogs. She was a very special person and a blessing to our family. We will always remember her fondly.

As a transportation concierge for the Conkling Center's "On the Go" program, I had the privilege of having Marlene as a passenger. Although I only drove her a few times, her strong spirit and interesting stories left quite an impression. I send my sincere condolences to her family.

We will miss you Marlene. As your summer-time neighbors, we were glad we got the chance to know you and spend time with you. Your humor and your generosity were amazing. Lise, Jim and Sarah

I did not know Marlene well, but have a fond memory of her trying to teach me how to hit a baseball up at the playground behind HLCS. I was just a little kid then & not very good at it, but she didn't give up on me until I hit a few! It was a happenstance meeting but so typical of her always taking time to lend a helping hand. I was so fortunate to see her at the Village Cafe recently so I could thank her again. May God keep you in His loving care. With my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Marlene. May your wonderful memories of Marlene comfort you.
