Lake Luzerne
Margaret B. “Marge” Eichhorn, 98, of Hyland Drive, passed away at her home on January 21, 2026.
Marge was born in Queens on June 1, 1927, the daughter of Margaret and John Adelmann.
She married the love of her life, John J. Eichhorn, on October 21, 1951. They moved from Queens, New York, to Bethpage, Long Island. They raised their two daughters there until they retired in 1973. They moved to beautiful Lake Luzerne, New York, after seeing the autumn colors once. They had typically visited Marge’s Uncle Al and Aunt Julie at the Brass Bucket for many years in the summer. Both were in awe of the autumn colors.
They settled in quickly after building their house. They had legendary gatherings with friends and family. They joined the American Legion, the Historical Society, the Lake Luzerne Senior Center, and the Tri-Town Seniors. They volunteered at the library and the Stuart M. Townsend Middle School. They enjoyed many hours of archeology digs at Fort William Henry, Fort Edward, Fort Anne, and other historical sites around Lake George.
Marge loved spending time at thrift stores and at family gatherings. In her later years, she also loved spending endless time with her caregivers, who graciously gave of their time. (Paul, Karen, Keana, Diana, Melissa, and Wendy).
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband John, a brother, Joe Adelmann, and a granddaughter, Carly.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lynn (Art) Baran and Cathy (Mark) Bauer, all of Lake Luzerne. She also has five grandchildren, Linwood (Marcella) Eichhorn, Erik (Brittany) Eichhorn, Jeffrey Baran, Mandii (Sean) Howe, and Matt Baran. She has eight great-grandchildren: Taegan, Aiden, Vincent, Octavia, Bowan, Kadyn, Jordyn, and Maddyn. She loved them all in her own way.
Friends may call Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 12 noon at the funeral home.
Spring burial will be in Holy Infancy Cemetery, Lake Luzerne.
