At the end of his Poem No Man is an Island John Donne wrote: And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee.

Lous funeral is going at this moment and in my mind I can hear the church bells tolling. Lous death has diminished me and I know that the bell tolls for me as much as it does for him. Lou was very proud of having served in the Marine Corps, so I was happy to learn that his burial would be with military honors. I just played Taps on my computer in honor of a fellow veteran and very close friend. May he rest in peace. And may his friends and loved ones accept our sincere condolences.

So sad to hear this sad news. He was one of my favorite high school memories.
