Hadley
Linda M. Marquette, 82, of North Shore Rd., passed away Sunday afternoon, August 17, 2025, at her home with her loving son at her side.
Born on November 24, 1942, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Walter W. and Grace A. (Mihally) McLaren. She married Clifford Marquette on March 21, 1984, in Houston, TX.
Linda worked as a switchboard operator at Montgomery Ward in Queensbury for several years. She then worked as a nanny for a local family. She moved to Texas and was a manager at Subway in Houston and later a manager at Malibu Grand Prix Amusement in Houston. She moved back to the area and settled in Hadley in 2001.
Linda enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, crossword puzzles and lending a hand to her son Chris wherever she could. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life.
She was predeceased by her husband Clifford Marquette; her siblings: Dutch McLaren, and Bill McLaren; her “bonus” children: Cheryl, Linda, Karen, Gary, and Skip Pecor.
Survivors include her loving son, Christopher (Lucy) McLaren of Hadley; grandchildren: Crystal McLaren Favro (Miles) of Comstock, NY and Dustin (Addyson) Leonard of Virginia Beach, VA; a sister: Ruth Williams of Florida; several “bonus” grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ginny McLaren of Greenwich.
In keeping with Linda’s wishes, there are no services scheduled.
