Corinth
Kenneth R. Tooker, 92, of Angel Road, passed away peacefully Monday, May 19, 2025, at Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville.
Born on December 30, 1932, in Corinth, he was the son of Herbert and Rhoda (Randall) Tooker. He attended Corinth Central School and was a lifelong resident of Corinth. Ken proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War earning the Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) and the National Defense Service Medal.
Following his Honorable discharge from the Army, he returned to Corinth and was employed as a Turbine Operator at International Paper Company for 40 years. He was a member of the Quarter of the Century Club of the mill.
Ken was a member of the Horace D. Washburn American Legion Post 533, and was selected as Grand Marshall of the Corinth Memorial Day Parade. He was a past member of the Oddfellows and a longtime member of the Corinth Grange.
Ken enjoyed fishing, gardening, listening to music at the Barn in Corinth, bird watching, scratching lottery tickets, and his trips to Arizona. While there he got to visit the Grand Canyon, Sedona and the Pima Air & Space Museum in Tucson. He immensely enjoyed the 90th Birthday Party that was held for him at Alpine Lake in which 100 friends and family attended. He always wore his Veterans hat and loved being thanked for his service. Ken had a wonderful sense of humor and a positive outlook on life.
He was predeceased by his wife, Ruthie Tooker; his companion, Yvonne Kiselica; siblings: Martha Woodworth, Albert Tooker, John Tooker and daughter in law; Ida Tooker.
Survivors include two sons: Terry Tooker of Corinth, Todd Tooker and wife Lisa Tooker of Johnstown; grandchildren: Terry Jr. (Amanda), Keith (Mandi), Shawn (Alysia); a brother, Ernest (Ruth) Tooker of Corinth; sisters in law, Edith Tooker and Loraine Tooker, several nieces, nephews, cousins and great grandchildren.
Burial with military honors will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
