John P. Moss, 77, of Big Brook Rd., passed away Tuesday morning, October 31, 2023, at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on May 12, 1946, in Bay Shore, NY, he was the son of the late John and Julia (Kattenbach) Moss.  He was a graduate of Babylon High School.  He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He married Mary McCarthy on February 14, 1998, at their home in Indian Lake.

John worked for Hamilton County Highway Department for 20 years, retiring in 2018.

He enjoyed his work as a truck driver, puttering in the garage and maintaining his beautiful lawn.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Moss; daughters: Shannon (Bill) LaPrairie of Indian Lake, Carrie (Chuck) Frost of Long Lake, Jennifer (Jim) Zumpano of Indian Lake; grandchildren: Allison, Emily, Steven, Victoria, Matthew, Jimmy and Olivia; great grandchildren: Michael, Nathan, Paisley, Henry, Louis, Levi and Jack.

Keeping with John’s wishes, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.
