Joann Tucker Obituary

Joann S. Tucker, 63, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023, after a brief illness.  She was exactly where she wanted to be; at home with her two sons by her side.

Born in Corinth, on November 15, 1959,  Joann was the daughter of the late Julia "Judy" (Treanor) and Myron C. Tucker, Sr.  She attended school at Hadley-Luzerne Central School, and later Mildred Elley.  She worked in the area as a bartender and caterer for several years but is most fondly remembered  for her caretaking. Joann was always there to lend a hand to others.  She cared for one of her sisters, and then her mother for years.

Joann was an exceptional person in so many ways. You never had to wonder what her opinion of any situation was. She was very stubborn and seemingly fearless, but those traits fueled Joann's inner-strength and guided her as she navigated life's challenges.  She was a very private person, but if she loved you then she did so with her whole heart and would always keep the door open for those fortunate enough to be loved by her.

She enjoyed watching her races, football, listening to her "tunes" with a good drink, and brought a party with her everywhere she went.  She could often be found walking around Glens Falls with her cooler - and if you had a problem with that, she never had a problem with setting you straight.

Joann is survived by her two sons Matthew Irish and Ryan (Ashli) Irish and the loves of her life, her two grandsons Ryan Jr and Eli Irish, of Glens Falls, NY; one brother Myron (Paula) Tucker of Broadalbin; and two sisters Susan (Johnny) Hoelscher of Wharton, TX, and Gerri (Dennis) Marion of Pelzer, SC; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Joann was predeceased by her mother Judy Dingman, stepfather Loren Dingman, father Myron C. Tucker Sr., two brothers Ronald Tucker and George Tucker, and two sisters Nancy Beach and Linda Springer, and nephew, Richard J. Pillesky ll.

A special thank you to Glens Falls Hospital and the staff of'T2 (here's looking at you Rodney) and to High Peaks Hospice for their exceptional care.
