Jane E. Locke, 68, of State Route 30, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 26, 2023 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 15, 1955 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Bernard “Bud” and Betty (Eldridge) Mahoney. She was a graduate of Indian Lake Central School.
She married Kenneth L. Locke on March 17, 1979 in Indian Lake.
Jane owned and operated Jane and Cathy’s Diner in Indian Lake for many years with her sister.
She was a dedicated volunteer with the Indian Lake Ambulance Corp for many years, a member and treasurer of the Parker Benton American Legion Auxiliary, past member of the Indian lake Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary, past member of the Indian Lake Town Council, an active member of the Indian Lake Senior Citizens and a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
Her enjoyments included playing golf and softball. She truly enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Jay Mahoney.
Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Kenneth Locke; a daughter, Amanda Locke of Hudson Falls; step daughters, Sarah Dumond of Indian Lake and Laura Locke; grandchildren: Erica (Arron) Aldrich, Shane Dumond, Shianne Boyer, Seairra Boyer, Dylan Locke and Kenneth Clawson; great grandchildren: Jackson and Delilah Aldrich; siblings: Patricia Mahoney, Cathy Bennett both of Indian Lake, Maryann (Herbie) Frank of Mayfield, B.J. (Louise) Mahoney, Jim Mahoney and Mike Mahoney all of North Carolina; sister in law, Tina Mahoney of North Carolina; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon at Miller Funeral Home, 6357 State Route 30, Indian Lake.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Church, Indian Lake.
Burial will be in Cedar River Cemetery, Indian Lake.
