Howard C. Ward, Sr.

To Howard’s family. I had the pleasure of meeting Howard by chance. He called my office to set up a scholarship for engineering students at Union College. I asked him why Union and he said because he spent many years working at GE and would pass by the College. I would call him every now and then to say hello and keep him updated on his scholarship and recipient. He was so nice and generous and we will miss him at Union College but his scholarship will live in perpetuity. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I will always remember fondly the many hours spent with Howie. My first time flying a sea plane was with him and we completed the ADK 46 together on Haystack. He was a trmendous friend and mentor who was a major influence in my life. He will be missed by many.

To Howie's family:

I was in the Explorer Scout Post that Howie led back in the early 1960's.
Howie led us on numerous scout trips in the Adirondacks. He was a
wonderful, cheerful, energetic leader. I haven't heard from him for many
years, but I am glad he had a full wonderful life. I am very sorry for your
loss.
