As a West Coast, Big City Girl, Sis schooled me in Adirondack life when I would come to visit Blue Mountain Center. She taught me about small town values and the importance of strong family ties. I will always be grateful for her friendship, her sense of humor, and her gift of sharing.

Our Mom, Sis, was a true Adirondack lady, she was also raised on the farm, she had to help with the animals and she told a lot of stories about that years ago. She lived at the Indian Lake Dam when her grandparents were keepers there and she also lived at the Tracy Dairy farm that was also in Big Brook. She was a tough lady and she had a very large family and so did our dad and it is a big family tree. She talked about her work family from BMC a lot, and she loved that family dearly. I recall hearing your name mentioned. Lots of stories. Take care Suzy Parker. Thank you for your condolences for our Mom Sis. Sincerely, The Eldridge Family

Sis cared for us, laughed, invited us in, conspired, tossed us out and invited us in again. And we loved her.

We will miss Sis so much. She was smart, kind, patient and a very funny woman. She cooked breakfast at Blue Mountain Center for almost 25 years and welcomed everyone into her kitchen with a lively mix of humor, curiosity, attitude and delicious food. If you entered her kitchen half-asleep you did so at your own peril! She often started with teasing about how late you woke up (good afternoon!), but quickly moved on to a deep welcome and warmth. She and her favorite spatula waved at and accepted all types of people, and I believe that open-hearted spirit helped her live a full and rich life. Well miss you, Sis!

Dear Ben and Family, know that Mom loved you all, and helped to make sure you ate good food, and on schedule, and that you cleaned your room. Sounds like you may be the other half of the family. She loved you all. Work was her life, she did it well, and gave it her all. Thank you for everything!!! The Eldridge Family

Lisa Packer, Thank you very much for the kind words about our Mom, she was special like that, she didn't let things get the best of her, she had cancer twice in her lifetime. We spent many days at the cancer center. Love to you Lisa and we all hope that everything is going well for you!!!! Sincerely, The Eldridge Family.

A Memorial tree was ordered in memory of Helen "Sis" J. Eldridge by Beth Thielen.  Plant a Tree

Sis was the first person at Blue Mountain Center I felt comfortable with. She was so deeply kind in an offhand, chatty way.
