Long Lake
Harry Dean Buxton III, 71, of Newcomb Rd., passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at his home.
Born on June 20, 1953 in Port Chester, he was the son of the late Harry D. Buxton II and Frances (Kurakowski) Buxton. He was a graduate of Port Chester High School, NYS Academy of Fire Science and NY Institute of Technology, Old Westbury, NY.
He worked for many years as a Building Code Enforcement Officer for the town of Pound Ridge. He was a 40 year member of Bedford Hills Fire Department and a 50 year member of Port Chester Fire Department. He was a long time Long Lake Fire Commissioner. He was a volunteer driver for 13 years for the Long Lake Rescue Squad and was currently serving as the Long Lake Building and Code Enforcement Officer.
He and his wife had a love of rescue dogs (all Huskys) adopting a total of 11 over the past 20 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen (Kennedy) Buxton; a daughter: Heather Buxton; twin grandchildren: Colter and Tanner Buxton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Harry's name can be made to Steve Caporizzo's Pet Connection, Long Lake Fire Department or to the Long Lake Rescue Squad.
