Queensbury
Harold P. Smith, Jr., 61, of Corinth Rd., passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 16, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born on May 19, 1956 in Troy, he was the son of the late Kathryn (Christensen) Smith and Harold P. Smith, Sr.. He was a 1975 graduate of Lake George High School.
He married Diana "Dee" Lang on December 31, 1988 at the United Methodist Church in Queensbury.
Harold owned and operated Powel Smith Trucking for over 40 years. He had hauled equipment for many Broadway shows, country and rock music artists as well as hauling freight.
He enjoyed animals, going to the rodeo, camping, speed boats, hunting and watching NASCAR.
He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Lucinda Smith.
Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Diana Smith; one sister, Kim (Scott) Newell of South Glens Falls, their children, Jenell and Tyler Newell; his mother-in-law, Patricia Lang of Queensbury; brothers-in-law, Robert (Doris) Lang of Queensbury, Bryan (Vincent DiMezza, Jr.) Lang of Queensbury, Timothy (Gail) Lang of Whitehall as well as several other nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Saturday from 2-4 p.m. at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.
A memorial service will be conducted immediately following calling hours at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve VanDixhorn, pastor of Pine Knolls Alliance Church, officiating.
