Mr. Harold “Flip” Neddo Jr.
Harold Neddo Jr. “Flip” passed away on June 26th, 2024. He was born on May 4th, 1929 in West Pawlet, VT and was raised in Whitehall, NY. He was the son of the late Mrs. Mary DiResta. Mr. Neddo was a 1947 graduate of Whitehall High School and served four years in the United States Air Force, entering in 1948. He was honorably discharged in 1952, making him a Korean War Veteran. He attended and graduated from Plattsburgh State University in 1956, receiving a BS degree in Education. He later attended Albany State, Auburn University and The University of Alabama. He received his MS degree in Educational Administration from Plattsburgh State and did work towards a PhD. at the University of Alabama. He taught at Hadley Luzerne Central School for thirty-five years and spent two years teaching at the University of Alabama. After retiring he lived to enjoy all the good things that being born in the U.S.A. brought him.
Mr. Neddo was predeceased by both parents and three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Ridgeway, Mrs. Thelma Zukowski and Mrs. Nancy Bramhall. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Christine Mullen, two daughters, Mrs. Sharold McBride (Bryan) and Mrs. Kim Saheim (the late Allen), five grandchildren, Marcie Meyer (Clark), Eric McBride, Dean McBride (Beth), Kristin Byrnes (Tyler) and Cory Saheim (Sydney) and of course, many cousins, nieces and nephews. He also considered himself very fortunate to have had a long and loving relationship with the late Ms. Eleanor Shaw, and her two sons Michael and Peter along with their families.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. John Pezzulo, P.A. Mitch Forshey and their staff at Saratoga Palliative Care. Also, R.N Steve Millington, Social Worker Karen Buczkowski, Chaplain Tom Ryberg and all of the nurses and volunteers at Gateway House of Peace with Community Hospice of Saratoga.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 11th from 1-4pm at Brewer Funeral Home, 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne services to follow.
Burial with military honors will be held on Friday, July 12th promptly at 10am at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery (200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY). In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations in Flip’s memory be sent to the Community Hospice of Saratoga or a veteran organization of your choice.
