Gwenneth Sanders Obituary

Hadley

Gwenneth Marilyn Sanders

April 28, 1934 – October 29, 2018

It is with great sorrow and hope in the resurrection that as a family, we announce the passing of Gwen Sanders on October 29, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Gwen was born in Albany Medical Center, the daughter of Katherine Bickford Beaupre, April 28, 1934 weighing only 3 pounds.  She was full of life from that day to her last day.

Raised by Monte and Katherine Beaupre “up north”, she attended Newcomb Central School and in her junior year of high school, transferred to Hadley Luzerne Central School where she graduated in 1952.

She worked and studied at Glens Falls Hospital lab, training as a lab technician and continuing education in Connecticut for a degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician.  She worked at Saratoga Hospital Laboratory until her retirement in 1984.

She married the love of her life, Ernest E. Sanders, on November 15, 1952 in the Lynwood Baptist Church in Hadley and they had four children and a wonderful full life. Theirs is a true love story!

Her accomplishments and volunteerism was her way to give back, through the Community Food Bank, the Open Door Mission, and the Good News Evangelical Outreach.  Her 26 years of service in Malawi, Africa as a missionary was her passion.  She and her husband traded 26 years to serve the orphans in Malawi.  They successfully opened two orphanages serving hundreds of homeless children, providing food, 39 drilled wells for clean water, housing, even the first electric lights and showers in villages which continue to operate to this day.  Her many travels with her husband included Jerusalem, Holy Land, Egypt, China, Europe, Hong Kong, South America all in the name of Christ to spread the Good News! She had a pure heart and loved all unconditionally.  No words can describe her love for my father and her family.

The last two years have been a struggle for her as she was ill and confined, yet on Monday she became free of her pain and suffering, forever with the Lord.  She loved ice cream, guitars, piano, saxophone, Irish dance or any music and dance.  Her love of family was fierce and protective, loyalty unmatched.  She will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She was predeceased by two sons: Eric S. Sanders and Ernest F. Sanders; three brothers, Harold Beaupre, Garry Bickford and Jerry Rosman.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest E. Sanders, her children, Andrew M. (Dave)  Sanders, Cynthia J. (Jeffrey) Saunders; grandchildren, Dana (Paul) Bouzos, Nora Sanders, Angelique (Jesse) Devitte, Richard Abare, Gregory (Mira) Clements; great grandchildren: Alex and Yanni Bouzos, Veda and Eva Clements; sister: Sandra (Ron) Bell;  Sisters-in-law, Adele (Don) Darrah, Linda Beaupre, Ilene Rosman; daughter-in-law, Tami Sanders; many cousins, nieces and nephews with a special thank you to Michael and Peggy Beaupre for their constant devotion. Thank you to Susan Rhodes for her special care!  Mom loves you all!
