Gwen Ellen LeBeau Bennett

It is with sad hearts that the family of Gwen LeBeau Bennett announces her passing.  Although she experienced declining health in recent years, Gwen maintained an upbeat attitude and refused to let her struggles interfere with participating in experiences that gave her joy- most recently her niece’s wedding.  

Gwen was employed by the Canton Central School District for many years.  In the days since her passing, stories of Gwen’s generosity and love for students and staff flood her family’s inboxes.  On the family front, Gwen could be counted on to provide care and emotional support to an ailing parent, sister, niece, nephew, or her beloved daughter, Sara.

Gwen is survived by her husband, Ken Bennett; daughter Sara Guiney (her greatest love and joy); mother Penelope LeBeau;  sisters Lianne (LeBeau) Knight and Molly (Mary Catherine LeBeau) Kaffka; and treasured nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her father, Leon LeBeau.

A Committal service for members of Gwen’s family will be held at the St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Colton, NY on September 4th at 11:00 am.   Donations in Gwen’s memory may be made to the Canton Central School’s “Bear Pack” program; Banford Elementary School; 99 State Street; Canton, NY;  13617.
