Gloria Elsa Studer, 96, of Harrisburg Road, passed away Sunday morning, October 27, 2024 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on September 12, 1928 in Beacon, NY, she was the daughter of the late Gustav I. and Elisabeth “Elsie” (Schnettner) Hammarlund.  She graduated from the St. Francis School of Nursing in Poughkeepsie.

Gloria worked as an operating room nurse at St. Francis Hospital and also as an RN at Dutchess Community College.    She was an active communicant of St. Martin dePorres Parish in Red Oak Mills as a eucharistic minister and a member of their choir and an active St. Francis alumni.  She moved to Stony Creek in 1992.

She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Harold Schmidt.

Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, John Paul Studer of Stony Creek; two daughters: Carol (Michael) Tompkins of Poughkeepsie, Susan (Glen) Russo of Carmel, NY; three sons: Joseph Studer, John Studer and Mark Studer; six grandchildren: Lauren, Justin, Catherine, Glen, Elisabeth, and Michael; one great grandson, Hunter; one sister, Norma Hammarlund.

In keeping with Gloria’s wishes, there are no services scheduled.
