Glenda L. Mitchell, 88, of Pelon Rd., passed away Saturday morning, January 18, 2025 at Glens Falls Hospital with her loving son at her side.
Born on January 1, 1937 in North Creek she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Barbara (Fish) Hammond.
She married Robert A. Mitchell on October 23, 1960 in North Creek. Bob died on February 11, 2023.
Glenda worked as a purchasing agent at Barton Mines for many years. She later worked in the offices of Home Healthcare of Hamilton County, the Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce, and Wakely Lodge.
She enjoyed knitting and ceramics as well as spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of the North Country Crafters.
Glenda will be remembered for her fiery spirit and unwavering honesty. She never hesitated to speak her mind, yet she was also the most loving and generous soul one could ever meet. Her deep care and devotion to her family and friends, both near and far, left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her three sons: Christopher (Kelli) Mitchell, Kim (Sandra) Mitchell, Matthew (Sue) Mitchell; seven grandchildren: Paul (Ally) Mitchell, Samantha (Danny) Mitchell, Cassandra (Ben) Check, Danielle Mitchell, Zachary (Stephanie) Mitchell, Kierstyn Natter, Alexandra Mitchell; eleven great grandchildren: Noah, Alanna, Owen, Brennan, Addilyn, Zaiden, Bella, Amara, Luke, Myla, and Connor; one sister, Donna Brown of Glens Falls.
A graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family.
