Gerald Lindsey Obituary

Gerald (Gerry) F. Lindsey, 88, passed away April 19, 2023.

Gerry was born in Johnson City, NY, to the late Haden and Valora Lindsey.  He was predeceased by his sister Betty (Ray) Hessinger of New Mexico.  Gerry is survived by his wife, Sheila (Hunter), his daughter Karla (Rance) Brode, granddaughter Amber (Matt) Moore, Kurt, Kris, and Raelyn Hessinger of NM, and Karla’s mother Pauline Carmen-Lindsey.  He is also survived by sister-in-law, Kathleen (James) Brady, and Sheila’s children Sheila Anne Hunter, Carol A. Houle, and James S. Hunter and their families.

Gerry was a proud veteran of the US Army 82nd Airborne and an AT&T Systems Technician.  He and Sheila retired to the Adirondack Mountains and built a home in the woods of Long Lake, NY, gathering more than 20 years of cherished memories.  Gerry, a woodsman at heart, loved the outdoors.  He was a dedicated member of St. Henry's Church and participated in many parish activities.  He most recently was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Hillcrest, NY.

Graveside services at Long Lake Cemetery at noon on April 28, 2023, officiated by Father James Teti.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the NY State Police, multiple EMT responders, Wilson Medical Center staff, and Deacon Paul who provided such compassionate care.  For those who wish, please consider a donation to American Heart Association or a charity of choice in Gerry's memory.
