Francis H. “Frank” McNamara, 81, of We Yo Trail, passed away, Saturday morning, March 4, 2023, at his home with his loving family at his side.
Born on August 12, 1941, in Manhattan, he was the son of the late Christopher and Elizabeth (Taggart) McNamara. He was a graduate of Manhattan Prep School, Manhattan College and NYU Law School. He served in the United States Marine Corps and Merchant Marines from 1959 to 1965.
Frank was a respected Maritime Lawyer (Admiralty) in New York City at the firm of Cardillo and Corbett until his retirement in 2010.
He married Linda Bareford on December 15, 1973. Linda passed away on July 9, 2022.
Frank was a prolific reader, occasional fisherman, photon admirer, bird watcher, tree lover. He was a science and the fine arts enthusiast. Frank had been vacationing in Indian Lake since 1961. In 1990 he and Linda bought their home on Lake Abanakee.
He is survived by his children: Thomas (Sarah) McNamara of Prague, Czech Republic, Andrew McNamara of Indian Lake, Katherine McNamara of Westport, Margaret (James) Bull of Melbourne, Australia; one brother, Robert (Patricia) McNamara of Chappaqua, NY.
