Hadley
Eula E. Sutliff, 105, passed away Thursday morning, June 27, 2024, at Wesley Nursing Home with her loving family at her side.
Born on November 18, 1918, in Corinth, she was the daughter of the late Yates and Helen (Farrar) Deitze. She was a 1936 graduate of Corinth High School.
On June 15, 1939, she married Miles A. Sutliff, Sr. in Batchellerville. Miles passed away on February 26, 1978.
Eula had worked at International Paper for a short time and then worked at Montgomery Ward in the credit office. She had also worked as a clerk at Stone’s Pharmacy. She retired in 1972.
She enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge and pinochle, bowling, going to county fairs, and playing board games.
She was a member of the Rockwell Falls Presbyterian Church, Tri Town Seniors, and Hadley Seniors. She was strong willed and proudly independent.
Eula was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Miles Sutliff, Sr.; her siblings: Beth King, Betty Hill, and Doris Hughes; sons in law, Willard Eastwood, and Scott Nelson; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Sutliff.
Survivors include her children: Dorothy (John) Reynolds of Hadley, Miles Sutliff, Jr. of Day, Ann Eastwood of Hadley, Carol Nelson of Hadley; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren and another on the way; a sister-in-law, Audrey Sutliff of Hadley; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.
Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lynwood Cemetery, Hadley.
