Elaine Reta Lashway, 74 of Chamberlain Rd., passed away unexpectedly at her home on December 3, 2024. Born on May 21,1950, at Glens Falls Hospital, in Glens Falls, New York. She was the oldest daughter of Rodney and Marion (Lanphear) Moulton, and married the late Joseph K Lashway Jr. on Dec 31,1977 in Indian Lake, New York.
One didn’t just know Elaine. Those around her, experienced Elaine. She was a force of nature, loud, brash, and absolutely hilarious! Take her or leave her; she couldn't care less. She loved her family and often treated friends the same way; with generosity, kindness and conversation. Elaine loved to camp, hunt and fish on Indian Lake, and enjoyed four-wheeling into camp. She was creative and passionate about anything she did, including painting, cake-baking, interior design, and snowmobile races. Her pride and joy were her grandsons, and all that they did. You could often find her in the stands or sidelines, yelling and supporting them, and the entire team.
Elaine was predeceased by her husband Joseph, her parents, Rodney and Marion Moulton, her brother, Stanley Moulton, her beloved Uncle Wesley Moulton, her aunts, Via Rine, and Aunt Hilda Streeter, and her brother-in-laws, James Bird, and Gene Lashway.
Survived by her loving daughter Jessica Lashway-Bruso, and her husband Chuck Bruso, Elaine also leaves behind her grandsons, Austin Bruso (Kira Delong) and Owen Bruso, her beloved great niece (whom she treated like a daughter,) Allison (Travis) Howe, sister, Kathy Bird, brother Dean Moulton, baby sister, Kim (David) Ameden, sister-in-law, Gail Moulton, sister-in-law, Sandy Lashway, beloved cousin, Glen Amell, her favorite cousins from Pennsylvania, Robin Worhach, Ruth Pidcoe, and Steve Rine, and so many other family members, and friends. She loved them all.
The family of Elaine would like to thank the Indian Lake Volunteer Ambulance Corps. and the Indian Lake Volunteer Fire Department. At their request, there will be no calling hours or public services. Instead, those who knew her should share memories, stories, pictures and laughs.
