Edward Bovee Obituary

Hadley

Edward P. Bovee, 83, of Mountain Rd., passed away Saturday afternoon, September 21, 2024 at Saratoga Hospital.

Born on June 25, 1941 in Lake Luzerne, he was the son of the late Roswell and Suzanna (Kazar) Bovee.  He was a graduate of Hadley Luzerne Central School.  He proudly served in the United States Coast Guard from 1959 to 1963.

Following his honorable discharge from the Coast Guard, Ed began working at International Paper Company in Corinth where he worked for over 30 years.  He was a member of the Quarter Century Club of the mill.

Ed was an avid hunter and fisherman in his younger years.  He enjoyed going to northern New York during the sugaring season.  He was musically “artistic” and enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica.  He loved Johnny Cash’s music.  His wonderful sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.

He was a member of the William J. Varney American Legion Post 862, Lake Luzerne and the Dog and Pup Hunting Club.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Gary Bovee and Larry Bovee.

Survivors include his children: Priscilla D. Wood (Martin) of Carthage, Matthew J. (Nicole) Bovee  of South Glens Falls, Thomas E. Bovee (Dee)  of Fort Edward; grandchildren: Logan T. Wood, Samantha P. Fahsel, Elissa Hammond; great grandchildren: Makayla Fahsel, Miller Fahsel and Jackson Wood; as well as his nieces and nephews.

Graveside services with military honors will take place Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 1 p.m. Luzerne Cemetery.

Ed’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Yvette Mistretta for her loving care of Ed over the past two years and to Norman Bovee and the staff at Saratoga Hospital for their care and compassion.
