Edith Antes

 Edith Antes, 96, formerly of Stony Creek, died Sunday, January 21, 2024, at the Pines at Glens Falls.

Born on December 5, 1927, in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late David and Kathleen (Petersen) Giles.  She married Martin Antes on June 5, 1949, in the Bronx.  They moved to Stony Creek in May of 1988.  Martin died on January 28, 2007.

Edith enjoyed shopping, antique furniture, and her house plants.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Carol Blackburn (Dec. 18, 1995); siblings: Dorothy Lyons, Gladys Flavin Audrey Farquharson, Gwen McKee, William Giles, David Giles, Harold Giles and, Richard Giles.

Survivors include her children: Dorothy Barron of Toms River, NJ, Edith Manning of Bayville, NJ, Susan Kerns Inman, SC,  Martin Antes, Jr. of Athol; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted in the spring at a date and time to be announced.
