Clyde S. Niles, 85, of Robert Gardens Apartments, passed away suddenly at Slate Valley Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.
Born on May 14, 1932 in Hadley, he was the son of the late Donald E. and Mildred M. (Holland) Niles. He was a 1949 graduate of Hadley Luzerne Central School. He earned a certificate in cosmetology following graduation.
Clyde served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict earning the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force in 1960, Clyde began a 37 year career at International Paper Company in Corinth. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club of the mill.
He enjoyed traveling throughout the North Country with his mother prior to her death on September 8, 2006.
Clyde is survived by his cousins.
Friends may call Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.
Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at noon on Monday.
Burial will be in Lynwood Cemetery, Hadley.
