Charles A. Chandler, 72, passed away Monday morning, February 12, 2018 at Upstate Medical Center. Syracuse.
Born on August 28, 1945 in Eden he was the son of the late William and Florence (Minekine) Chandler. He was a 1963 graduate of Indian Lake Central School. He went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Education from SUNY Oswego.
He married Susan Shaw on August 27, 1983 in Tunkhannock, PA.
His teaching career began in Little Falls and then to the Peace Corps, where he taught in Africa. He later taught in Indian Lake and Syracuse.
Charles enjoyed traveling the world, reading, history, his dogs and cats and camping in the Adirondack's.
A brother, Arlin Chandler, predeceased him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Susan Chandler; one daughter, Emily Howland Chandler of Brooklyn; two sisters, Minette Hunt of Sun City, FL, Georgie Chandler of Auburn; two brothers, Harvey Chandler of Syracuse and Robert Chandler of California; as well as his nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Charles' wishes, there are no public calling hours or funeral service.
Spring burial will be in North River Cemetery, North River.
