Beverley H. Nichols, 71, of Oak Street, was reunited with her husband in heaven, on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, at Albany Medical Center, following a brief illness.
Beverley was born on December 11, 1952, the daughter of Beverly and Helen (Kelley) Pratt. She married Francis Nichols on June 26, 1971 in St. Patrick’s Church in Port Henry, NY.
She graduated from Moriah Central School in 1970.
Beverley was a hard worker. In addition to raising five children, she was employed by Grand Union for many years, as well as Evergreen Health Center. Most recently she was employed at OrthoNY, until her retirement in 2020. Bev loved the people she worked with, and created several special, lasting friendships.
Beverley was predeceased by her parents, and her beloved husband of 49 years, Fran.
Survivors include her five children: Cory Nichols of Ballston Lake, Ben Nichols (Samantha Baird) of Corinth, Danielle Nichols of Corinth, Patrick (Amber) Nichols of Corinth, and Julie (Keith) Haack of Queensbury; her six grandchildren: Moriah and Catherine Nichols, Brady Nichols, Cecilia and Carson Haack, and Charlie Morey; four siblings: Jeanne M. Burke of Malta, Judy (Richard) Gonyeau of South Glens Falls, Barbara (Craig) Tolosky of Ballston Lake, and William (Sherry) Pratt of Port Henry; as well as many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters-in law, and friends.
Bev was a true conversationalist and had a genuine curiosity and interest in people’s lives. Her favorite things were her Christmas decorations, trips to the beach with her family, asking questions to get all the details, hosting family gatherings, a good peanut butter sandwich (no jelly!), visiting with her friends (especially Jennifer and Rosann), trips to New York City at Christmas time, and spending time with her beloved sisters and brother. Most of all, she cherished being a mother and grandmother (aka “Mom”, Grandma and Grammy); even, and most especially, in her final days.
Friends may call Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 12 Noon to 3 p.m. at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday July 1, 2024, at Holy Mother And Child Parish, where she was a faithful communicant for forty nine years, with interment following at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville at 12:30 p.m.
Donations in Bev’s memory can be directed to Holy Mother and Child Parish in Corinth, or the SADS Foundation, 4527 South 2300 East, Suite 104, Salt Lake City, UT 84117-4448, or online at https://sads.org/donate/
