Corinth
Betty A. “Punky” Bovee, 77, of Angel Rd. passed away Monday evening, December 30, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 20, 1947, in Corinth, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Edna (Ormsby) Bennett. She was a graduate of Hadley Luzerne Central School and Adirondack Community College.
She married Owen L. Bovee on November 5, 1966, at Rockwell Falls Presbyterian Church in Lake Luzerne.
Betty worked at Cluett Peabody Shirt Factory in Corinth for a short time and then worked for over 20 years as office manager for Schuh Real Estate. She then began a long career in health care, first as a CNA at Wesley Health Center, while she attended college to earn her degree as a Registered Nurse. She then worked as a visiting nurse for Washington County and finished her career as a nurse working for Glens Falls Hospital Dialysis Center for over 20 years, retiring in 2016.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, playing cards, camping, going for drives, cooking, and baking. Above all, Betty loved spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Owen Bovee, Sr. and their children: Sherrie (Michael Walcott) Bovee of Providence, Owen (Stacy) Bovee, Jr. of Mocksville, NC, and Michael (Shannon Long) Bovee of Corinth; five grandchildren: Bree Walcott, Paige Walcott, Justin Fleming, Tanner Bovee, and Sarah Bovee; one sister, Joan (Fred) Tennant of Lake Luzerne; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 3-6 p.m. at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Shyann Ovitt for taking such good care of Punky. They would also like to thank her sister-in-law, Crystal LaBombard for always being there when needed.
