Hadley
Bernadette F. “Bernie” Sutliff, 87, of South Shore Road, passed away Monday afternoon, July 4, 2022 at her home.
Born on February 17, 1935 in Corinth, she was the daughter of Sidney and Mamie (Fuller) Flewelling. She was a graduate of Corinth High School. She married John L. Sutliff on June 14, 1969 in Lake Luzerne. John Died on October 27, 1993.
Bernie was employed at Glens Falls Insurance Company as an assistant underwriter and for Nathan Proller Insurance in Glens Falls as an underwriter. She later worked at Montgomery Wards in Glens Falls and as head cashier at the Saratoga Rose in Hadley.
She enjoyed playing bingo, taking trips to casinos, crafts, crocheting and knitting. She also enjoyed her dog, Max.
Bernie was predeceased by three sisters: Reba Hall, Virginia “Topsy” White, Valetta Clothier; two brothers: Charles Flewelling and Sidney Flewelling.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Betty Sutliff of Stony Creek; one stepson, John (Mary) Sutliff of Hadley; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call Thursday, July 7 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.
Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Lynwood Cemetery, Hadley.
Special thanks to D’Arcy (Dolly) and Heather who helped Mary (Doll) keep Bernie home for her last remaining days.
