Arlene Fielding, 92, passed away peacefully at home on December 19. She was born and raised in Yonkers, New York, to Matilda (Blaner) and Andrew Kolesar Sr.
Arlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norman Fielding Jr., her parents, her brother Donald Kolesar, and her daughter Nancy Fielding. She is survived by her siblings Michael Kolesar; Andrew (Elaine) Kolesar; and Karen (Jack) Buyarski, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At the age of 15, Arlene met the love of her life, Norman Fielding Jr., who was 16 at the time. Their love story spanned a lifetime. They were married on April 21, 1957, and began raising their family in Yonkers before settling in Yorktown Heights, New York and later retiring to Hadley, New York. Arlene co-owned and operated Fielding Security, a family-run business she proudly operated for 20 years.
Arlene was the proud mother of four children: Mark (Tammy) Fielding, Chris (Linda) Fielding, Sandra (Lou) DiCaprio, and the late Nancy Fielding. She was a cherished grandmother to Amanda Fielding, Mark (Tahlia) Fielding, Cody Fielding, Michael Winkler, Caitlin (Marty) Cole, and Meaghan DiCaprio, and a beloved great-grandmother to Liliana Fielding.
She was known for her love of the beach, reading, lollipops and candy, and her adventurous spirit—famously doing donuts in snowy parking lots. Above all else, Arlene loved her family deeply, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Funeral service details will be shared with family and friends once arrangements have been finalized.
In lieu of flowers, guests are encouraged to bring a backpack filled with school supplies to be donated to students in need, or to make a donation to one or more of the following in Arlene’s memory: Hospice Care, Wounded Warriors, or Tunnel to Towers.
She now rejoins her beloved Norman, continuing a love story that began in their teenage years and will live on through the family they built together.
