Lake Luzerne

Annis L. Clute, 102, of Clute Dr., passed away Thursday afternoon, January 4, 2018 at the Warren Center, Queensbury.

Born on February 2, 1915 in Lake Luzerne, she was the daughter of the late Willard and May (Murdock) Tubbs. She was a graduate of Hadley Luzerne High School.

Annis married Harold Clute Sr. on October 20, 1931 in Lake George. Mr. Clute died on August 12, 1995 following 63 years of marriage.

Her enjoyments included sewing, crocheting, camping, especially along the Cedar River, cooking, playing bingo, playing card games, flowers and gardening. She also had enjoyed spending the winters in Ponce de Leon and Avon Park, Florida. Most important to Annis, was time spent with her family.

Annis had been a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Luzerne-Hadley Fire Auxiliary as well as various local sewing clubs.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Harold Clute, Sr.; two sons, Harold Clute, Jr. and Richard Clute; a son-in-law, Robert Angell; grandson, Richard J. Clute and great grandson, Jeremy Clute; siblings, Lottie Tubbs, Lulu Konkofske, Leona Swears, Alice Harris, Vina Cook, Wilbur Tubbs and Howard Tubbs.

Survivors include her children, Eugene Clute of Foley, Alabama, Betty Burns of Greer South Carolina, Joan Angell of Lake Luzerne, Larry (Anita) Clute of Lake Luzerne, Lynda (Joseph) Rozell of Lake Luzerne; daughters-in-law, Eileen Clute and Claudia Clute; sisters, Jane Girard of Corinth and Marguerite Tubbs of Corinth; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.

Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dick Osborne, pastor of the Hadley Luzerne Wesleyan Church, officiating.

Private burial will be in Luzerne Cemetery, Lake Luzerne.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Annis' memory may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
