Amanda J. Shippee, 48, passed away unexpectedly February 1, 2018 at Saratoga Hospital following an extended illness.

She was born on August 11, 1969 to Charlotte (Allen) Shippee and Ronald Shippee, Sr.

Amanda enjoyed playing games on her computer, reading books, viewing photos of her family and friends and talking with her family and friends on Facebook. She loved visiting and having company.

She was predeceased by her father, Ronald Shippe, Sr., a brother, Ronald "Butch" Shippee, Jr., as well as an infant brother and sister.

Survivors include her mother Charlotte (Ralph) Allen of Stony Creek; her four children, Rene (Michael, Jr.) Bovee of Glens Falls, Kayla (Vernison) Allen of Lake Luzerne, Walter Kathan III, Alana Vaughn of Corinth; grandchildren, Veronica L. Shippee, Hailey M. Bovee, Josiah J. Allen, Lyly Kathan; her companion of many years, Bryan Allen, his son, Travis Allen, whom she loved as her own as well as his children; two sisters, Wanda (Herbie J.)Dunn and Valerie Dunn; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services will be conducted in the spring at Day Meadows Cemetery. At a date and time to be announced.

Amanda's family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Saratoga Hospital ICU, especially Dr. Bravo, Kevin, Sarah, and Stephanie in the ICU for all of the help and support they gave us in this difficult time.
