I just learned of Al's passing. I was honored and privileged to have accompanied him on his flight to Washington DC with Leatherstocking Honor Flight several years ago. What a great man Al was. In our day together, he spoke so highly of all his family. I know he left you all with many great memories.

Tommy, Mark, Patty and Mary--

Sorry to hear of the passing of a very caring and very funny man!  I can still see him zipping back and forth in front of the chalkboard, balancing chemical equations, producing the answer with a triumphant " Moth-ah, look at me now!"   Beyond the showmanship that went into his teaching, his tests (no fill-ins or multple choice) showed an expectation that you either knew it or you didn't, but he'd provide every opportunity for needed help.

Loved the great theological "debates" he and Hollis would have at church coffee hours. They produced both great ponderings and great laughter.

Glad you could keep him at home  It's a tough road, but a blessed one, when it can be done!
