Alan H. Grosskopf, 89, son of Rubin and Robertis Grosskopf, was born in Sheboygan, WI on July 16, 1936. He graduated from Central High in 1954 where he played football and basketball.
He entered the United States Air Force in 1955 and was stationed in Plattsburgh, NY. He was honorably discharged in 1959. He then worked for the US Postal Service for 10 years. In 1970, he enrolled in college on the GI Bill and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education. In 1974 he married the love of his life, Monica (Forcier) Grosskopf and had 51 wonderful years hunting, fishing, and enjoying his family. Twenty-five of those years they spent part of the year in their villa in Bradenton, Florida.
Al had a wonderful sense of humor and loved stirring up people just to get a rise out of them. His love of family always came first. He discovered that he loved receiving hugs.
