Dear Nancy, Jodie, Darrin and family members,
I was heartbroken to hear of Walter's passing. I've known him since we were teenagers hanging out at the Ole Swimming Hole with Dick Spring, Jimmy Hall and Walter's brother Marty. We had lots of fun in those few short weeks every summer.
Able to fulfill a long held dream, I was fortunate to live full time in Indian Lake for many years after I retired and enjoyed seeing him and Nancy at Marty's. After he prepared margaritas for us he often would come and wax on and on about subjects of current and local interest. Coming form the New York metro area he would accuse me of being a "tree hugger", but he knew how much I loved Indian Lake and the Adirondacks. He was part of the area that made it even more special. He will be dearly missed.
My heartfelt sympathy to you his family and to the town for losing a special person.
