Susan A. St. John

Susan Ann St. John, 62, of Finch Road, passed away Thursday evening, October 11.

She was born on September 8, 1956 in Saratoga Springs to Peter Helenek and Nancy Helenek Richmond. Susan graduated from St. Peter´s Academy (Saratoga Central Catholic High School) in 1974 and from The College of Saint Rose in 1978. She married Samuel St. John on April 26, 1980 at St. Joseph´s Church, Greenfield Center. From 1986 to 1996, Susan worked as a computer programmer at Greenfield Computer Consultants, and from 1996 to 2006, at Commsoft in Albany. 

She loved singing and music. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, RV camping and was an avid reader.

Susan is survived by her husband of 38 years, Samuel; her children Theresa (Jaime) and Matthew (Heather); and grandchildren Emilia, Benjamin, Samuel and Lucas, as well as her mother Nancy Helenek Richmond; and siblings Daniel Helenek, Thomas (Vicky) Helenek, Timothy Helenek, Mary (Tim) Baker and Peter Helenek. 

Susan will always be remembered by those who loved her as a sweet and kind soul, a caring mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and wife. 

Friends may call on Tuesday, October 16 from 4 to 7 pm at the William J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home at 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs. Immediately following there will be a celebration of Susan´s life at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at the discretion of the family.
