Siegfried Goldstein, 91, passed away Friday morning, June 15, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital.
He was born on January 30, 1927 in Vienna Austriato Isador and Anna (Hahn) Goldstein.Following the Nazi's annexation of Austria he immigrated to America at age 12. At age 18 he joined the United States Army to become part of the "greatest generation" in defeating Nazi Germany in World War II.
Upon his honorable discharge and proudly serving our nation, he graduated the Cooper Union school of engineering. As an engineer, Siegfried worked on some of our nations most sophisticated military equipment such as the B1 Bomber and SR 71 Blackbird.
2018 marks the 60th anniversary of his marriage to his wife Louise.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isador and Anna Goldstein and twin brother, Manfred Goldstein.
Siegfried is survived by his loving wife Louise and their four children, David Goldstein, Robin (Jay) Thompson, Donald (Caren) Goldstein and Larry (Tricia) Goldstein and 8 grandchildren Jessie, Austin, Charlene, Brooke, Brianna, Grant, Madison and Nicholas.
Friends may call Sunday from 10 – 11 a.m. at Brewer Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Church St., Lake Luzerne.
Services will be conducted immediately following at 11 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
